Daniel Lubogo

Besides being the Managing Partner of AB & David Uganda, Daniel has vast experience in Legal practice in Uganda. He has advised public infrastructure companies, offered legal, trade and transaction support to big corporate entities within the Corporate, Commercial, Banking and Finance Sector, as well as the Energy Sector. He has represented many corporate companies in courts of law including government Parastatals in Uganda. He is a pioneer Alumni of the Africa Legal Support Facility Academy and has obtained training by the Africa Legal Support Facility to handle complex transactions in Oil & Gas, Mining, Infrastructure & PPP’s, Energy and Natural Resources as well as Sovereign Debt & Project Finance.

As Managing Partner for AB & David Uganda, Daniel is part of the AB & David team that was been instrumental in ensuring that AB & David wins the Africa Legal Awards 2021 which is one of the most sought-after award by Africa’s largest and top elite law firms in Africa. Under his leadership, AB & David has been ranked consistently for the past three years by IFLR1000 among the leading law firms in Uganda along with Uganda’s elite law firms.

Daniel has been the Chair and Co-Convenor of the Uganda Law Society Commercial Cluster and previously been part of the Training and Professional Development Committee of Uganda Law Society. He is a Commissioner for Oath and was awarded the Uganda Law Society Award on behalf of AB & David Africa for supporting Uganda Law Society obtain a grant from the International Bar Association for its Legal Aid Project to support the indigent and vulnerable to access Justice in Uganda during the Covid pandemic in 2021.

Outside work, Daniel has been the President of the Rotary Club of Kampala Wandegeya in the year 2017/18 and during his term as president, he was the President of the Presidents of Rotary Clubs in Uganda. After completing his term as President, he received the Distinguished Service Award by the Rotary Club of Kampala Wandegeya for leading the club as President in the year 2017/2018 to excellence with inspiration. In 2018/19, He served as Assistant Governor of Rotary in Uganda District 9211 and was the Chair of Corporates Partnership in the year 2021/2022.

Daniel is a Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees of Uganda Protestant Medical Bureau. The Uganda Protestant Medical Bureau (UPMB) is a Not-for-profit Non-Government Organization (NGO) with a network of 330 faith based Private Not For Profit (PNFP) facilities including 23 Hospitals, 9 Health Centre IV, 168 Health Centre III, 130 Health Centre II and 16 Health Training Institutions spread across Uganda owned by the Church of the Province of Uganda and the Seventh Day Adventist Church. He is seconded by the Church of Uganda to sit on the Board of Trustees of UPMB.
